A man spent Christmas night in pain after falling off a quad bike yesterday evening.
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was sent to an isolated beach bach near Te Maika, south of the Kawhia harbour mouth, about 7.30 this morning.
A 40-year-old man with a serious chest injury and was flown to Waikato Hospital in Hamilton.
There was no road access to the place where the man hurt himself.
