In a rare move, a joint statement has been issued by the Green parties of New Zealand, Australia and Canada, speaking out against the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Nine countries are negotiating the text, but there are concerns about the closed door nature of the talks, with the only information revealed so far coming through leaks. There are concerns the agreement will lead to multi-national companies being able to sue our government over issues such as plain packaging of tobacco products.
