Message of acceptable financial behaviour

There's a warning for those walking the boundary of what's acceptable.

It follows the sentencing of former Bridgecorp director Rod Petricevic to six and a half years in jail.

Otago University professor of management Steven Grover says the financial system is based on trust, and the people running it have a lot more information than investors.

"It does send a strong message to people in business of what is unacceptable behaviour in order to support the financial system as we know it."
