Hail the size of 20 cent coins has been pelting parts of west Auckland, minutes after the city was enjoying sunny skies.
WeatherWatch says a sea breeze have brought isolated hail, heavy downpours and thunderstorms to parts of the region this afternoon.
Henderson Valley resident Jess told Kerre and Mark she's never seen the weather change so quickly.
"We'd been in the park playing in the hot sun all morning, I went to the Doctors, came out and the skies were all black."
"I stopped on the side of the road and my kids had a snowball fight."
Other residents describe slippery roads, surface flooding and hail of Biblical proportions.
