Judge Andrew Becroft has been the Children's Commissioner since 2016.

In his time in the role, he has called for a 'By Maori for Maori approach' in both the youth justice system and in Oranga Tamariki, has advocated for the end of the use of spit hoods, and been an important voice in the fight to reduce child poverty.

Judge Andrew Becroft finishes up this week and Judge Frances Eivers takes over in November.

In his last week in the job, Becoft joined Wellington Mornings host Nick Mills to talk about his successes, regrets, what more needs to be done, and what's next for him.
