Wellington sporting organisations are growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of transparency from the Wellington City Council around the pricing of sports facilities.

The group Affordable Sports for Greater Wellington asked council candidates before last year's election for an independent review of pricing for the likes of football fields, basketball courts and artificial turfs.

Although 13 members agreed to the pledge, a recent letter from Mayor Tory Whanau says the council will not support a review.
