This week marks the 30th Anniversary since the 2nd football test betwee New Zealand and Australia at David Farrington Park, Wellington in 1991.
Wendi Henderson was still at Wellington East Girls College and scored in the New Zealand team's 3-nil win. The three test series against Australia was the prelude to New Zealand representing Oceania at the first World Cup in China in November 1991.
Wendi was selected for that World Cup and went on to play 64 times for her country, captaining the team on 9 occasions and along the way scored 17 goals.
At club level Wendi was a leading player in the Wellington region for in excess of 20 years going on to coaching at club level, Wellington representative teams and assistant coach at New Zealand Football Ferns international level.
She joined Adam to chat about the anniversary and what she makes of the current women's football scene in Wellington and across the country.
