Former New Zealand middle and long-distance runner Rod Dixon was made an officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM) in the New Year 2026 Honours for services to athletics.
Dixon is a four-time Olympian, winning the bronze medal in the 1500 metres at the 1972 Olympics in Munich.
He won the New York City Marathon in 1983 making him the only athlete in history to have won the New York Marathon and medalled in the Olympic 1500m.
Dixon joined Jason Pine to chat about his introduction into running, the 1972 Munich Olympics, and being recognised in the New Year 2026 Honours.
