Queues at the supermarket checkout may be a thing of the past.
Auckland start-up Imagr has designed SmartCart – a trolley that uses artificial intelligence to identify items that are put into the cart. It connects to an app on your phone removing the need for customers to go through a checkout.
Toshiba TEC has backed them and to date they have raised $14 million in funding.
Founder and chief executive William Chomley joined Andrew Dickens to discuss how the cart works and what it would mean for your weekly shop.
