New Zealander Wendy McCulluch has been working on the frontline of Covid-19 in the once epicentre of the virus in New York City.

New York was the most heavily hit US state with over 350,000 cases and 23,000 deaths.

Born in Gisborne, Wendy spent a decade travelling the world in the entertainment industry working alongside some of the biggest names in music, before studying to be a vet at the age of 40.

She now runs a house call vet business, which she has continued to do through Covid-19 and lockdown in the city.

The pandemic in New York has seen her face many challenges as she navigates a hands on business, entering people’s homes during the cities quarantine.

McCulluch joined Francesca Rudkin to discuss what life has been like at a Covid-19 epicentre.
