India continues to face the world's worst outbreak of Covid-19.

The South Asian nation's rampant second wave has topped 400,000 new daily cases for the first time.

It also takes out the record for the highest daily count globally, after 10 consecutive days with over 300,000 cases.

More countries are limiting travel out of the country in order to curb the spread of the virus and deadly new variants. New Zealand is allowing citizens and their families to return, but not permanent residents - but even citizens are struggling to get home due to limited flights.

It has prompted calls for new repatriation flights and other efforts from the Government to assist those overseas.

Political commentators Ben Thomas and Morgan Godfrey joined Francesca Rudkin to discuss what the Government should do, and the isolationist views many New Zealanders have developed during Covid.
