It's been revealed one of the teenagers who escaped from a Hamilton isolation hotel on Friday night, spent time with their father's body, before being found by police.
A woman and three of her children are facing charges for absconding from the hotel - but the 12-year-old, who also escaped, will not face charges.
The family broke out of the Distinction Hotel, in order to go to their father's funeral in Auckland yesterday.
The woman, a resident of Brisbane, is the children's sole caregiver and wore a facemask while appearing on the videolink..
Judge Noel Cocurullo told the woman the New Zealand public are sick and tired of people breaching the strict quarantine rules.
The family will reappear in court via video link on Wednesday.
NZ Gardener editor Jo McCarroll and Gold / Newstalk ZB host Andrew Dickens join Francesca Rudkin on the Sunday Panel to talk about this, along with the other stories making news this week. Listen to the audio above.
