Richard E. Grant has been a recognisable name and face in British cinema for three decades.
But his latest role might finally clinch him an Oscar nomination.
Grant has already earned a Golden Glbe nomination, alongside a raft of other awards, for his role as Jack Hock in Can You Ever Forgive Me?
Hock is a gay, charming and lovable rogue struggling to survive in New York in the early 90s.
In the movie, he is befriended by notorious literary scammer Lee Israel, played by Melissa McCarthy, and assists her in her life of crime.
