The New Zealand electrical industry doesn’t normally make headlines when it awards an apprentice of the year.
But that changed last week when 21-year-old Opal Vickery won the prestigious Electrical Training Company apprentice of the year award.
It makes her the first woman to ever win the prize.
She joined Andrew Dickens to talk her win and what it’s like being a female electrician.
