The long-held theory that cats eat grass to make themselves throw up doesn't appear to hold much water.
California researchers have had cat owners monitor their felines for at least three hours a day while they were outside.
Nanogirl Michelle Dickinson told Andrew Dickens they also kept a close eye on their cats' health.
"What they found is that it is psychological in humans, because we've been told your cat and your dog will vomit when it eats grass. You only noticed when it's vomited after eating grass."Â
Dickinson says the theory now is that it's an innate predisposition from their wild ancestors, designed to expel parasites.
