Me by Elton John – his memoir, in his own words and I just loved it. He takes a really wry look back at his life – the childhood, the talent, meeting Bernie, the clothes, tours, money, men, Bernie Reid, the drugs, the tantrums, other celebrities, and of course David Furnish and the kids. It’s really great.
The Guardians by John Grisham. A young white lawyer is murdered in mysterious circumstances and a black guy (of course) put away for a murder he did not commit. Enter the Innocence Project – or a version of it, in this book called The Guardians – who work to get the poor guy freed but there are powerful forces at work who don’t want him exonerated and all sorts of dodgy stuff to cover up.
