Cleanses and detox diets are viewed as ways of clearing out toxins that lead to weight gain, or as a means of counteracting winter over-indulgences.
Wellness expert and naturopath, Erin O'Hara, is here today to explain that cleanses and detox treatments are mostly marketing, and that our body naturally detoxes regardless of whether or not people use these treatments.
"I think they can be really extreme, especially when people get into juice fasting, plus taking these detox kits which obviously are very marketing-focused."
