Flight of the Conchords are one of New Zealand's biggest comedy exports, but things could have been very different.Â
The musical duo, made up of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, became famous after scoring a HBO series that launched them to international attention.
However, the two originally made a pilot for TVNZ years before they went to America.
The two were turned down by the state broadcaster, seeing them take their comedy talents overseas.
But the lost pilot will finally air as part of TVNZ's documentary Funny As.Â
