It is not one of New Zealand's most discussed diseases, but bowel cancer kills more people per year than breast or prostate cancer.

The Never Too Young campaign is seeking to raise awareness of the disease, with New Zealand having one of the highest rates of the cancer in the world.

As increased screenings mean that the numbers for those over 65 have dropped, they are seeing more young people get diagnosed with bowel cancer.

Survivor and advocate Chelsea Halliwell joined Francesca Rudkin to discuss the campaign happening over the next month.
