It's been a historic day for basketball in New Zealand.
After a NCAA national championship winning campaign with UCLA, Kiwi Charlisse Leger-Walker was drafted 18th overall in the 2026 WNBA draft.
She becomes the first Kiwi to be drafted to the league and the second to play in the WNBA after Megan Compain, who played in the inaugural 1997 season.
