Paul Vaughan has been sacked by the St George Illawarra Dragons after he illegally hosted a party last Saturday which was attended by 12 other Dragons players, breaching Covid-19 protocols.

The Dragons board decided to tear up the remaining 15 months of his deal which was worth around AU$750,000.

Vaughan was already fined $50,000 dollars by the NRL and slapped with an eight game ban, as well as being fined by New South Wales Police for breaking the health order.

NRL writer Brad Walter joined D'Arcy Waldegrave to discuss how the story unfolded and led to this shock move.
