FIFA Women's World Cup to be one of the biggest competitions held in NZ ever

Football fans rejoice - the best women players in the game are coming to our shores.

New Zealand and Australia will host the FIFA Womens World Cup in 2023.

The FIFA Council has voted in favour of the trans-Tasman bid over Colombia.

Newstalk ZB football reporter Jason Pine told Simon and Phil the number of games played here will be significant.

He says this will be one of, if not the largest, world competition we've ever held.
