Halloween not as American as many Kiwis would think

A Professor of Irish Studies says the origins of Halloween would surprise many. 

The holiday has become firmly cemented in New Zealand culture as thousands of children around the country dress up and hit the streets for treats. 

Eamon Cleary Chair of Irish Studies Prof Sonja Tiernan told Simon and Phil many people believe it's an American tradition, but it actually originates from Scotland.
