For many people, the prospect of living without a car, a smartphone, a laptop and a watch is unthinkable.
However, one couple, who have a 30-year age gap and met while travelling, have revealed how they gave up their home to live life as nomads for 12 years.
Miriam Lancewood chucked in her regular life as a teacher, sold all her possessions and starting living a nomadic life in the woods with a man 30 years her senior.
They spent their days dealing with the immediate need, hunting, collecting firewood, building fires and finding shelter.
Miriam, who is originally from the Netherlands, is back in civilisation for the Dunedin and Auckland writers’ festivals and joins Saturday Morning with Jack Tame to chat about her fascinating life.
