It’s only April, but Kate Elizabeth Russell has already released what’s been described as ‘the most controversial novel of the year’.

Her book “My Dark Vanessa” is a #metoo story of a sexual relationship between a 15-year-old girl and her English teacher.

It attracted an incredible 7-figure deal for a first novel - and it also attracted a huge amount of criticism about its controversial subject matter.
