13 August 2023: As a soldier in the British army Chris Collins was deployed to Bosnia where he was exposed first-hand to the shocking and traumatic circumstances of a war-torn country.

After leaving the army he experienced anger issues and PTSD from the intensity of his time in the army. He found ways to work through these emotional conflicts, and with this history, he had developed a sense of spotting when others were grappling with suicidal ideation.

Losing his next-door neighbour who was serving in NZ police to suicide, was the catalyst for Chris founding Tango-Kilo Mike, an organisation focussing on suicide prevention and mental health support for those serving in uniforms - military and first-responder emergencies services.
