Have we considered that Britain might be on the verge of something spectacular?
If they are, how many of those who have argued that it would be a disaster did so, because they wanted it to be?
I have noted a number of names you would recognise that advise the Government or are on Government boards and panels involving Covid have written pieces or spoken publicly about how dangerous what Britain is doing is.
They, of course, aren't alone. The WHO says the same thing.
But how much of what they say is based on the possibility that they are so blinded by their own ideology; they can no longer see alternatives? Ask yourself also, are these people only advising the Government because the Government only hires people that tell them what they want to hear?
How many of these people are so invested in their own view or spin that the possibility that they are wrong is on the verge of being a fairly large embarrassment?
For a week now in Britain, cases have dropped.
By the way, we have to change the way we talk about this. In vaccinated countries, cases aren't as important as they once were, because vaccines limit damage. We need to go back to where we started. How many are in ICU? How many are on ventilators? How many are dying? And of those in trouble, how many have underlying issues? How many aren't vaccinated?
What if Boris Johnsons is right? What if Britain is the shining path for the future?
Our elimination strategy could now be shown to be a mistake. Not at the start. At the start it bought us time, time until the vaccines got here. Those who knew this, were awake and got their vaccine programme sorted, are now part of the new norm.
Living with Covid.
Those of us who weren't awake failed to lobby the drug companies and have chosen to use just one jab, not a variety, are sitting here stuck, if not locked down.
Yes, Britain made a hash of it at the start. But to use the words of Jacinda Ardern, Chris Hipkins, and Ashley Bloomfield, it's not how you start, it's how you finish, apparently.
What if Britain has got this right? What if those, including our own, so-called experts got so hooked up on their one way of thinking and missed the golden opportunity?
What if the smugness of shutting a border, then spending a year slapping ourselves on the back and reading Time Magazine articles about ourselves, cost us the ultimate prize?
Getting on with life.
