Every Friday morning, Mike Hosking takes you through the big ticket items of the week and lets you know what he makes of it all.

The Virus.

4/10.

"There are various bits to it, but my overarching feeling this week is we didn’t handle it well.

We didn’t cover it properly, we didn’t react to it properly."

The Economic Fallout.

2/10.

"This part is genuinely and quantifiably worrying, because we've freaked out.

Jobs are at risk, livelihoods hang in the balance, and businesses have some tough days ahead."

The Media's Coverage.

3/10.

"Not just here, there was a lot of it abroad.

But when the Prime Minister is handing out reprimands to headline writers, those involved should be appalled at themselves."

Joe Biden's Super Tuesday Comeback.

9/10.

"As good a comeback as you have ever seen."

The Police Bullying Report.

7/10.

"Isn't this a quintessential example of the snowflakery that’s embedded in our workplaces?

You're bullying me! Ah no, we're just doing a performance review."

Kiwisaver Changes.

6/10.

"Anything to deal to default funds, is no bad thing. Anything to try and boost retirement savings, is no bad thing.

The fossil fuels part though is a sop."

The European Court of Auditors.

9/10.

"My heroes of the week.

They found public transport, despite $28 billion of funding, is no more popular, didn’t decrease car use, doesn’t work, and most money is actually wasted."

Nick Cassidy.

8/10.

"Who? Exactly.

Set a record at Formula E, and doesn't even drive for Formula E, it was a training day.

He may end up driving for Formula E because of it, meaning we have three behind the wheel.

It proves, yet again, just how good we are with cars. How underrated is that?"
