CRL affected businesses: Empathy 'not cutting it'

It's do or die for businesses impacted by the City Rail Link.

Today at 9am businesses that are imminently due to close will gather as part of a demonstration of the steps of the Auckland council.

They are calling on a decision to be made on financial relief and have invited Michael Wood, Stuart Nash, Phil Goff and Brian Roche to meet with them.

Heart of the City chief executive Viv Beck told Mike Hosking support has grown, but it’s not enough.

“We’ve got at least a couple of minsters who are showing empathy, Minister Wood and Stuart Nash. But that’s not cutting it, because people need money and support.”
