A crucial milestone has been reached, hours before a crucial decision needs to be made.
The Government has confirmed all three of Auckland's DHBs have reached the 90-percent milestone for first doses.
It comes as Cabinet considers this afternoon whether to move Auckland to Step Two restrictions -- allowing shops and public facilities to reopen, and up to 25 people to meet outdoors.
Melbourne University epidemiologist Tony Blakely told Mike Hosking Auckland is now in a good position to start easing a range of restrictions.
“Most people going out to the pub or a restaurant are recently vaccinated and therefore less likely to transmit, so probably reasonably safe for a vaccinated economy.”
