A warning to be aware of what information you might be unwittingly sharing with a Russian app.

The artificial intelligence photo editor FaceApp aims to show users what they will look like as they age, based on a current photo.

Tim Erlin of cyber security company Tripwire told Mike Hosking there are concerns around the permissions users might be granting when using the app. 

He says the terms of service are very broad, allowing them to take ownership of the photos uploaded, and the photos they create.

The app is developed by a small team from Saint Petersburg in Russia, who claim to have built the tech in-house using some  AI technology.
