There's disappointment over the lack of support for the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame.
The museum, housed at Dunedin’s historic railway station since 1999, includes Olympic gold medals and other sporting memorabilia.
But on Friday, Dunedin City Council withdrew its support.
Sports Hall of Fame chairman Stuart McLaughlin told Mike Hosking they will be looking to change the council's decision.
"We've got a process that we've been running, and we've got four live proposals and so we'll be assessing those. If there is a credible alternative, we'll be looking at it very strongly."
