Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has promised to abandon controversial laws that make it easy to deregister unions and rid officials.
The Prime Minster wants to cooperate with unions better in the hope of reforming workplace laws.
It will help form a new relationship between unions, employees and Government.
Australian correspondent Steve Price told Mike Hosking Morrison's speech was impressive.
"You can hear in his voice that this disaster which he's manage pretty well, has given him a great deal of political confidence."
Mr Price believes Morrison has a lot of comfort with no election bearing down on him, unlike New Zealand politics.
