The Chase TV star, the 'Dark Destroyer' is defending his name against the 'PC brigade'.

Australia has dropped the word 'dark' from the star's nickname, and the UK network ITV is under pressure to follow suit.

Chase star Shaun Wallace told Mike Hosking he's proud to be black and wants the name to stay put.

"Because of the current climate around Black Lives Matter, everyone is being far too PC."

Wallace says he's asked the UK network ITV to keep the name as is.

"To be honest, there is no need to change. I'm not offended at all. The way which I use the name The Dark Destroyer is because I'm black, my intellect and I will destroy you."

TVNZ screens the show's UK version, which still uses the name 'Dark Destroyer'.
