The compulsion trigger has been pulled on Three Waters but, not everyone's happy.

The Havelock North campylobacter crisis in 2016 was a catalyst for the reforms.

Hastings Mayor Sandra Hazlehurst says they were offered $35-million for their water assets worth 1.2 billion dollars in value.

She told Mike Hosking the Government hasn't listened to their proposal.

Hazlehurst says they would have liked to see the assets stay in the hands of the councils that bought them.

“We’ve just invested $80-million in safe drinking water over the last five years.”
