Waikato Regional Council is considering whether to appeal a decision on the Sleepyhead Estate.

Independent hearing commissioners have approved the rezoning of land at Ohinewai, north of Huntly.

The council made a joint submission with Waka Kotahi, opposing the land rezoning.

Council chairman Russ Rimmington told Mike Hosking the two agencies have some issues about the development.

“We have to just consider obviously in regard the effect on the expressway. And we’re also concerned in regard to how the water and wastewater will be managed.”

The Waikato District Council is all for the development.
