A home grown Covid-19 vaccine is making progress.
New Zealand company Covid-19 Vaccine Corporation last year designed a vaccine to cover variants and recent lab results show they're on the right track.
CEO Robert Feldman said they need around $20-million to perform the first clinical trial, which could happen by the end of next year.
He said when it's available, he sees it being given at the same time as a booster.
Feldman told Hosking they’re wanting to make a good vaccine even better.
“We are trying to stimulate a different arm of the immune system...Really few [around the world] are working on the approach.”
