The Prime Minister says she's moved on from the Clare Curran saga and has no concerns about the way she handled it.

Jacinda Ardern came under fire for how she dealt with the Broadcasting Minister's resignation last week.

Curran resigned after struggling to answer questions in Parliament about whether she had used her personal Gmail account for Government business.

Ardern told Mike Hosking she rejects suggestions she should have fired Curran.

"Despite your view that this demonstrates that I am a week leader, I do not accept that whatsoever."

Curran was sacked from Cabinet and stripped of her open government and digital services responsibilities by Ardern on August 24 after not disclosing a meeting set up using her personal email account.

Jacinda Ardern said regardless of how she handled the situation this outcome was inevitable.

"Ultimately I get on with it just like everyone in these jobs does."

"This was a case where the Minister went through a bit of pain between my moving her outside of Cabinet and her call  was that it was too difficult for her to continue."

She said Greg O'Connor's comments on the situation were incorrect.

Ardern defended her interview with Chris Lynch prior to Curran's resignation being announced, saying she was giving the Minister the necessary space and time.

"We were working through it as quickly as we could that morning. I am not always in a position to reveal everything in a blow-by-blow account as they happen [but] as soon as we were in that position we revealed it publicly."

She says she was as open as she could have been during the interview.
