Get the superyachts to Auckland - and the business will come in droves.

A new report from Marine New Zealand has laid out the economic benefits of having the America's Cup in New Zealand.

The report suggests that from superyacht visitors alone, we stand to make more than $430m.

NZ Marine Executive Director Peter Busfield told Mike Hosking, New Zealand will become the fashionable place to be.

"On average every superyacht that comes to New Zealand spends $2.7m. Now, most of that is on the marine industry, a grease and oil change for these vehicles is about $500,000."
