Gender neutral tees are starting to make a debut at golf clubs in the UK.  

The latest to make the change is Hartford Golf Club.  

Players are allowed to choose what tee to go off, based on their distance and ability. 

Director of Golf at Hartford Golf Club Paul Cunningham told Mike Hosking it’s not very common and his club are one of the first to do it.  

“I didn’t realise how controversial they would be. They’ve caused quite a bit of debate.” 

He said they saw the move as a natural progression and actually intended to bring them about sooner.
