Legendary UK presenter Noel Edmonds has launched 100 online radio stations, here in New Zealand.

The broadcasting icon, who now lives in Matakana, north of Auckland, says the initiative is entirely self-funded.

He told Mike Hosking the purpose is to support businesses and enhance the spirit of local communities, affected by Covid-19.

"The stations are running and playing music now.

"They have got inspirational words of wisdom, and some of them have local information already."
