A small group of New Zealanders will soon be able to get the AstraZeneca Covid-19 jab.
Officials announced yesterday the vaccine will become available for a small number of people.
National Immunisation Advisory Centre Director Nikki Turner told Mike Hosking it could be used by a couple of groups.
She said that's those who can't tolerate an mRNA vaccine, who might have a severe allergy to it or people who had a bad reaction to their first jab and aren't confident about getting the second.
Turner said there's another group of people who would get vaccinated but don't like the mRNA technology.
“Here’s another internationally well-used product.”
