The Government is being blamed for delay in firearms licensing.  

Owners have to wait six months for renewal and 12 months for a new licence.  

The Act Party says the delay will cause stress for legal owners.  

Firearms Spokesperson Nicole McKee says told Mike Hosking rushed legislation after the Christchurch terror attack needs to be changed. 

“We want to make sure that we have really good, robust policy in the future that treats licensed firearm owners as being the respectful people that they are, and allow communities to feel safe.”
