Another significant contribution to the regional and national economy by the annual Fieldays event in Hamilton..

The recent Economic Impact Report shows $549 million in sales revenue for New Zealand firms was generated this year.

That's an increase of more than $50 million on last year’s figures.

Fieldays' General manager of Commercial Nick Dromgool told Mike Hosking that the event has been estimated to have contributed over $18 billion to the national economy.

He says that they are very aware that they still need to grow. 

"We're very conscious that we need to lead change, and that's what we're focused on."
