Wellington's City Mission has no objection to thrift shop flipping.
Some questions have been raised around the ethics of buying items from op shops and then selling them elsewhere for double or even triple the price.
But Wellington City Missioner Murray Edridge says told Mike Hosking for them it's not an issue, and prices are low to ensure a constant turnover.
“If we’ve got items that we don’t know the value of, we tend to either give them value by experts or we sell them online at fills. And people come and choose it and if they’re happy, and we’re happy, then that’s great.”
