It seems that Auckland Airport's international arrivals express lane trial has been a success so far.Â
Just over 6000 passengers have been processed in the trial attempting to cut down wait-times at the border, which for some reached up to two hours last month.Â
Average processing times from the trial have been close to nine minutes, down from the 13 it took in February without the lane.Â
Biosecurity NZ Northern Regional Commissioner Mike Inglis told Mike Hosking that it's made a huge difference.Â
He says they're not reducing their biosecurity focus, but those low-risk passengers with nothing to declare have been in and out much more quickly.Â
