Complaints against real estate agents are rising as more people rush into the industry.
Real Estate Authority figures reveal 31 percent more people quit their jobs in the 12 months to March to become agents than the year before.
Complaints to the government regulator also jumped six percent and 32 percent more calls were made about potentially laying a complaint.
In that time the Real Estate Institute reports more than 90,000 homes were sold for a total $77.3 billion.
Boulgaris Realty owner Michael Boulgaris says a lot of people view it as an easy way to make money.
"They have no idea of the skill involved, the time involved, the sacrifices involved - you're giving your heart and soul to do it properly like any job. It's just such a disillusion."
He says people are coming in without people skills, social etiquette or business knowledge and aren't properly trained because new agents are going through a cookie cutter process.
