The Housing Minister is defending Kiwibuild, following yet another blow.

It comes after Kiwibuild buyers in Wellington were set to move into their new homes in July this year.

However, due to ongoing delays partly caused by Covid-19, the owners are now having to wait until June 2022.

Megan Woods told Mike Hosking the situation is on the developer. 

"I don't have the ability to break property contracts, because the contracts aren't with Kiwibuild. Kiwibuild underwrites the developer."
