The economic downturn caused by Covid-19 has seen thousand of restaurants and hospitality venues reduce their operating hours.
A Restaurant Association survey has found that almost 70 per cent of its members have adjusted their operating hours since New Zealand returned to Alert level one.
CEO Marisa Bidois told Mike Hosking some places are opting to close for a couple of lunches a week - while others are taking a different approach.
‘Some have opted to close down for a day while others have reduced to four trading days.”
Bidois says those who are opting for the four day approach are targeting their busier days of trading.
