The total number of deaths in New Zealand or Australia hasn't risen because of Covid-19, because hardly anyone's caught the flu this year.
New research shows England, Wales and Spain had the highest numbers of excess deaths as a result of the virus.
Study author and Imperial College London professor Majid Ezzati says New Zealand and Australia have had fewer deaths, because we managed to contain the first wave of the virus.
He says that meant deaths, caused by Covid-19 and other conditions, didn't increase.
Ezzati hopes UK’s second wave is smaller than the first, but agrees the cases are certainly on the rise.
